When we bought a plot with a beautiful view on Alvor Bay we were not aware of the work that had to be done to start building, get all the papers to start and get the project done. Projsul was recommended by friends of ours who were also very satisfied with their work. We went with Paulo and Joana through the project's possibilities. We together created a great plan. This was really together because they also heard my ideas and plans. This was very important for me personally because a lot of architects do not listen and do only their own thing and their ideas are the most important. Because of Paulo we do have a cellar now under the whole house. I never thought we would get a permit to do so but he did!

The plans were all delivered well at the camera and after some time we received the permits to start building. During this time (also COVID time) they called regularly to the camera to ask how it was going with the permits. In the meantime we looked together for a constructor. We found one who had another way of building. We build in light steel. Paulo and Joana did not see that as a problem but more as a challenge and to learn also a new way of building.

When finally starting after many meetings and finalizing the drawings we had a regular meeting and Paulo checked every step of the project so far. The project is not ready yet but the house is beautiful and for now all is as we want it to be.

We would like to say heartfelt thank you to both Joana and Paulo at ProjSul. We took the decision to buy a house in Portugal in July 2020 at the height of the pandemic and they have been with us every step of the way in our renovation project.

The property that we bought in Sesmarias had been built and then largely untouched since the 1980's and so needed quite a lot of work be done. They provided great ideias and suggestions as we remodelled both the interior and exterior to our satisfation. They helped us through all of the local planning processes and worked hand in hand with our chosen builder to complete the project by providing a great combination of structural engineering advice and architecturally aesthetic suggestions. They oversaw progress and always kept us updated with regular photos and updates when we couldn't travel to Portugal to inspect the build. We often held Zoom and WhatsApp video calls so that we could be kept updated remotely. They were also happy to discuss options with the builder on our behalf and make recommendations to us on possible solutions when problems arose. Finally, they were very willing to make recommendations for others tradespeople when we needed them based on their past experience in the area.

We are absolutely delighted with how our property now looks and we are particulary pleased with both open plan nature of our downstairs living area and the roof terrace, both which were thanks to their suggestions.
